The Alfred Fathers' Day Appeal
The Alfred Fathers' Day Appeal, proudly sponsored by Mitre 10,
is the hospital's major public fundraising appeal.
Since its inception 10 years ago, the Appeal has raised millions
of dollars for new, cutting-edge equipment that increases the
chance of saving a life and improves The Alfred's facilities.
A key part of the appeal is the Buy a Day for Dad campaign,
supported by Holden, which offers fabulous money-can't-buy
experiences via online auction on its website.
This year proceeds will be dedicated to the expansion of The
Alfred Centre, Australia's first one-stop-shop patient care
facility.
The establishment of the Gastroenterology Clinical Service
Centre will be a significant component.
A full spectrum of diagnostic, treatment, out-patient care and
research facilities will be co-located within the one building,
greatly enhancing the treatment and care for patients with bowel,
liver and oesophageal cancer and other related conditions.
